Polish Picks: February

POLISH PICKS

FEBRUARY

A recap of what I wore on my nails throughout the month! I won't be including everything I wore this month simply because I didn't take photos of everything and I change up my nail polish pretty frequently so this could be a long post! These won't be in chronological order because I don't really think it matters here so my nail length might vary.

Rimmel 60 Seconds Super Shine in Port-A-Loo-Blue with Inglot Nail Enamel in 262
This was not a favourite nail combo because I felt like the blue didn't really suit me and the combination of the blue and pink looked kinda childish. I love the pink and thought the formula of it was fantastic, but I found the blue to be a bit more difficult to work with. The Rimmel polish was kinda thick and streaky and it has a paddle brush which always leads to a messy application. The Inglot polish has a really thin brush and the consistency of the polish is more thin so it's really easy to work with and it was opaque with one coat (but I did two anyway). Both dried really quickly so that's a bonus.
Revlon Nail Enamel in Demure and OPI Nail Lacquer in Charmmy & Sugar
Sorry this photo is dark, it was really hard to capture the glitter on camera! Demure is a coral-peach polish that I'm not a huge fan of, like the colour is pretty but I find that it chips quickly and badly on me. I decided to top it with this glitter from OPI, it's a mix of silver and pink iridescent chunky glitters in a frosty pink base, it's very pretty and it totally transformed the look, but I don't love it. My main complaint is how difficult it is to remove, it's a great polish and I love how much glitter is in there because my nails don't look patchy when I use this, I always get a decent amount of glitter on each nail, it's just such a pain to take off because the glitter just doesn't want to budge.
Glossyblossom Nail Lacquer in Milkybaby Orange
This is a Korean polish that I got in a mystery bag from a Japanese stationary store, and I love the colour - it reminds me of banana paddlepops! This polish goes on a little streaky but is opaque in two coats, it takes a while to dry and I did get some smudging with it because of that. But my main complaint about this polish is the smell. It smells like a spray fixative, not nail polish, and I find it really off putting. It also didn't last very well and I have other colours in my collection that are very similar so I think this is one I'm just going to get rid of.
Eclipse Long Lasting Quick Dry Nailwear Enamel in 634
This is another Korean polish, it's a gorgeous metallic lime green that I think is just so perfect for Summer! The only problem I have with this polish is that it's quite sheer, so on it's own it takes three coats to be fully opaque, which is a pain. It's also not the easiest to remove because of the grit of the shimmer through it. I have another metallic polish from this same line that I've used as a topper, just one coat over two coats of a creme polish, and that worked really beautifully so if I can find a nice lime green creme I'll be using this the same way! Not sure how it would perform over white polish because I don't own any. This lasted really well on my nails too!
Sinful Colors Polish in Folly
First of all, I hate the name of this polish. I don't mind the colour, but it's darker than what I typically like. I want to try this again in winter and see how I like it then because it just didn't really feel Summer appropriate. I can't remember if this lasted well or not, but I know that the formula was much better than other polishes I've tried from Sinful Colors in the past. This was nice and thin and dried well.
