PROJECT LIP PRODUCTS: FINALE
Throughout this project I wore 93 lip products, and was able to really look at my collection and determine what I did and didn't want, and what my preferences for lip products are.At the beginning of the product I had:
Lip Liners - 4
Lipsticks - 28
Liquid Lipsticks - 39
Lip Glosses - 6
Total - 77
I currently have:
Lip Liners - 6
Lipsticks - 26
Liquid Lipsticks - 34
Lip Glosses - 11
Lip Tints - 2
Total - 79
My numbers haven't drastically changed, but that's because I love lip products and I didn't stop buying them while I was doing this. However, I did declutter A LOT, I just brought in new things that cancelled it out. Throughout the project I was able to declutter 30 items. I brought in 32 new items in the same period. So really, my collection has only grown by two products over the past eight or so months, which I think is pretty good.
I didn't get a chance to wear every single lip product in my collection through this project due to the fact that I decided to declutter a few before I wore them, either because I knew I didn't like the formula, thought I wouldn't realistically wear it, or because I felt they had expired. These included 5 lip products;
- Estee Lauder Pure Colour Envy Long Lasting Lipstick in Rose Tea
- Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in Dopey
- Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in Point Zero
- Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in Marshmallow
- Napolean Perdis Liquid Lipstick in Deja Blue
Over the course of the project I was also able to finish off 1 product, through my project pan. I know that in my intro I stated that I would only wear a product once and that I'd have to wear everything once before I could wear something again, but that felt really restrictive and there were occasions where I just wanted something I knew I could trust rather than taking a gamble on a lipstick I'd hardly ever worn. My project pan lip products were the major exception to this rule, but there were a few glosses and liquid lipsticks that I reached for on multiple occasions. I managed to finish my Colourpop Lippie Stix in Button, I would have liked to finish more off, but I was just feeling really disheartened with project panning and lost my passion and interest for/in it.
I think this was a really valuable experience, although it didn't stop me buying any lip products, I did get to really familiarise myself with my collection and gain a better understanding of what I do and don't like so I can make more informed purchases in the future! I'll be doing this again for sure, once I have maybe five or so new lip products in my collection I'll just make a little post here and there because I like having the record of what the colour looks like on me and what I thought of it!
