PROJECT PAN INTRODUCTION
As 2018 begins, I have decided to start a project pan with the hopes that I can actually use products rather than just 'collecting' (hoarding) them. In the lead up to starting my project pan I made it my mission to burn through an entire candle, with that accomplished, I feel that I am ready to use up as much of my makeup as I can! For January, I am also going on a no-buy for clothing and makeup, I may introduce other monthly no-buys throughout the year as well.
My goal for the project pan is to use up old products (such as foundations and mascaras) so that I can try new products, and hit pan on at least one eye shadow or other powder product (as I am a sucker for a new eye shadow palette). Another goal is to finish up non-cruelty free products in my collection so I can replace them with cruelty free products. My plan is to incorporate more and more products into my everyday wear; I generally wear eyebrow gel and mascara everyday but hope to use more product on a daily basis so I am actually getting my moneys worth. As products are used up I hope to add more into the project, if possible.
TL/DR: I want to wear my makeup more frequently and hit pan or use up one product by the end of the year.
PRODUCTS INCLUDED IN THE PROJECT:
I decided to add in products I know have to be used, like old lipsticks and nearly finished foundations, and products I can easily wear for a go-to everyday look. In order of application, the products I've included are;
- Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater - I'm very close to finishing this spray and have a back up of it that I would like to move on to
- NYX Photoloving Primer - A primer that I know works with my foundation so I know I'll be able to use it consistently
- Maybelline Baby Skin Primer - Another primer I know works with my foundation
- Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation '010 Light Porcelain' - My current favourite foundation, have had for nearly two years and is nearly finished
- Maybelline Fit Me Concealer '15 Fair' - Not really pale enough for me but still matches, just want to use it up so I can get a new concealer
- E.l.f. Under-eye Setting Powder - Favourite powder to set my under-eyes so I know it will be used - container is very small so I think I can use it up
- Clinique Chubby Stick Blush '02 Robust Rhubarb' - A brand I do not want to support (this blush was a gift), I find cream blushes easier to work with than powders so know this will be my go-to for now as it's my only cream blush
- Maybelline Master Strobing Stick '100 Light-Iridescent' - Favourite highlighter for 'no makeup' days, staple product for school, will get used heavily, can use under powder highlights as well
- Maybelline Fit Me Set + Smooth Pressed Powder '120 Classic Ivory' - I have several powders for someone with dry skin and just want to use it up
- Jeffree Star Skin Frost 'Peach Goddess' - I know I won't be able to finish this but I would like to make a dent in it as it is my current favourite highlighter
- Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette - Basic neutral palette I can see myself wearing on an everyday basis
- Covergirl Full Lash Bloom Mascara - Current everyday mascara, would like to try others so I want to finish it
- L'oreal Brow Artist Plumper Clear Brow Gel - Current everyday brow gel, not my favourite and is non-cruelty free, want to finish so I can go back to my Essence brow gel (this L'oreal one was a backup from a while ago)
- NYX Wonder Pencil '01 Light' - Versatile product that I could use as an eye or lip liner, just want to make some progress on it
- Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick '55 My Nude' - Got this lipstick for a formal event almost two years ago, needs to be used up, easy everyday colour
- Colourpop Lippie Stix 'Drop Top' - Easy everyday colour, small amount of product (compared to other lipsticks)
- NYX Dewy Finish Setting Spray - Favourite setting spray, know I will consistently use
- One Direction 'Our Moment' Perfume - Have had for a while and is nearly finished, I also have three new perfumes to try so would like to finish it up
January 9th Update: I started my project pan on January 1st. Since then I have not worn a full face, but have used some products. My goal of wearing makeup everyday has already failed, although I have worn products such as mascara, highlighter, and brow gel everyday. This may be more difficult than I thought it would be.
Next post will include my starting progress points!
