A Year's Worth of Empties: 2018

Over the past year I have been saving all my beauty related empties to see how much I could use up in a year! It's been kind of a pain storing all of them so I've decided for next year I'm going to take a different approach and do monthly empties but only keeping my makeup empties for the full year (because that's what's the most interesting to me). I'll be putting skincare and hair products in the posts as well, but I won't be holding onto them. 

This year I was able to get through:

• 3 full size primers 
• 3 foundations
• 1 concealer 

• 3 full size lipsticks
• 1 deluxe sample size lip gloss 

• 1 deluxe sample size cream blush
• 1 full size cream highlighter 

• 7 packs of makeup remover wipes (4 Simple, 2 Neutrogena, 1 Target) 

• 3 hand sanitisers 
• 3 travel size hand creams 

• 3 facial sprays
• 3 setting sprays 

• 2 candles 

•  3 nail polishes 

• 3 bottles of nail polish remover

• 1 travel size micellar water 
• 1 deluxe sample size exfoliator
• 1 cleanser
• 2 cleansing balms (1 full size, 1 deluxe sample size)

• 1 shower gel
• 1 body lotion 

• 8 deoderants 

• 2 100mL perfumes
• 1 100mL body spray

• 1 bottle of vitamins 
• 1 bottle of brush cleaner
• 1 pair of lashes 

• 3 beauty sponges (1 Beauty Blender, 1 Real Techniques, 1 Manicare)
• 1 eyebrow razor

• 4 moisturisers (1 deluxe sample size) 

• 4 bottles of shampoo
• 2 bottles of conditioner
• 2 bottles of curl cream (1 travel size) 

• 4 potted lip balms
• 7 stick lip balms (5 Nivea, 1 Hurraw, 1 Love Dem Bones)
• 1 tinted lip balm

• 1 brow pencil 
• 4 clear brow gels (1 Colourpop, 2 Essence, 1 L'oreal)
• 6 mascaras (1 Clinique deluxe sample size, 1 Covergirl, 1 E.l.f, 3 Essence) 

• 2 powders (1 loose, 1 pressed)
• 1 powder blush

• 7 sheet masks
• 1 set of eye masks

• 6 makeup samples (5 primers, 2 powders)

• 19 skin care samples (7 moisturisers, 2 exfoliators, 2 serums, 1 body gel, 2 masks, 2 makeup remover/exfoliator wipes, 2 eye creams, 1 cleanser) 

• 1 pack of pore strips
• 1 bottle of tea tree oil
• 1 acne spot treatment  

• 2 packs of cotton rounds (280 cotton rounds in total) 

• 3 packs of cotton tips (300 in total, I think)

The total value of the products I used up (excluding samples) is: $1144 !! 

I didn't set myself an official goal for how much I would like to use up in terms of monetary value, but I was hoping it would be around $1000 and I managed to do so!

The value for just the makeup (including lashes, tools, nail polish, and facial sprays) I used up is: $480.10 (approximately)
