Empties #8

EMPTIES

SEPTEMBER 12 - OCTOBER 1
  • Mitchum 48HR Protection Shower Fresh Deodorant 50mL - Still using these but am tired of them staining my clothes. I have to think really carefully about what I wear when I use this and can't wear many of my tops because it leaves patches on them which is so frustrating. It is still my favourite deodorant I just wish it dried a bit faster so it wouldn't transfer as much.
  • Too Cool For School Pumpkin 24K Gold Sheet Mask - I really liked this mask, the serum sunk into my skin really quickly and the mask didn't slide off my face at all because it was like a hydrogel mask and had a bit of stick to it. Didn't leave a huge excess of product on my skin, felt very firming, and left my skin feeling smooth and soft. Would definitely repurchase!
  • Neutrogena Makeup Remover Night Calming Cleansing Towelettes 25 Pack - I really liked these wipes, they were super gentle and got all my makeup off (I think these are actually more effective than the Simple ones I love)! With these I didn't have to really rub and tug at my skin so I wasn't irritating my skin or eyes at all which was a nice change. These are a little more expensive than the Simple wipes, but Priceline often has sales on makeup wipes so I'm sure I could stock up then.
  • Essence Satin Touch Blush '10 Satin Coral' - Okay so this one has a bit of a long story - it's not technically an empty but it is unusable so I'm counting it as an empty. I managed to break the packaging for this blush and rather than just leaving it in the broken compact I decided to pop the pan out and put it in a z palette but in doing so the blush shattered. I repressed it into an empty e.l.f. compact I had rather than pressing it back into it's original pan and now the product has hard pan. The texture and colour have completely changed and I think it's because I added too much alcohol. I may repurchase this in the future because I did enjoy the blush before I broke it, and I currently don't have any powder coral blushes.
  • WoodWick 275g Candle 'Vanilla Bean' - I really love the WoodWick candles, I love that they crackle, they have great scent throw, and just really beautiful scents. I have been using this candle since February and it's only just been used up! They're such great value and I really feel like nothing goes to waste because they burn so evenly. Would love to start a little collection of these and definitely want to pick up some citrus scents in the near future.
  • Woolworths Select Nail Polish Remover Nourishing (Aloe & Jojoba) 125mL - This was okay, it wasn't the most effective nail polish remover I've used but it got the job done. I don't think I'd repurchase because I don't like the scent of this (it has some weird fragrance mixed in).
  • Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear Nail Polish 'Bamboo Shoot' 11.8mL - I don't think I've ever hated a nail polish as much as I hated this one. It was too thick and wouldn't apply evenly to the nail, it would take hours to dry and would just peel off and smudge even after it dried. It made my nails look grossly textured and patchy and I just hate it! The colour was beautiful (ballet slipper pink) and great for everyday wear but the formula was so bad that it made me hate using the polish. I am glad to have finished it but I am very weary of these light pink colours from here out - I might try a Kester Black baby pink because I know I love their polishes, but I bought this one because I have a blue from the same line that works really well, but this particular polish was just awful.
  • Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser 20mL - I really love this primer, I find that it blurs my pores/skin and prevents my makeup from breaking down throughout the day, it just works with my skin. Will definitely be repurchasing in the future after I finish my NYX Pore Filler.
  • Essence Volume Stylist 18 Hour Lash Extension Mascara - I like this mascara but it's not my favourite. It's very black and lengthens my lashes (I don't see a whole lot of volume) but it can irritate my eyes by the end of the day and I find it difficult to remove. It also tends to flake on me, I'd guess because of the fibers. I also managed to somehow get this on my eyelid every time I used this, but I'd say that's my fault not the mascaras. I could probably get one more months worth of use out of this mascara but it has already been open for three months and because my eyes are sensitive I just don't want to risk it. It did the job and it's cheap so I might repurchase in the future, but I'm not going to go get it straight away. I might try some of the other Essence mascaras first.
  • Carmex Classic Moisturising Lip Balm 7.5g - This one took me a little longer to use than usual because I lost it for a while and then after I found it I started going through a thing where I couldn't stand the feeling of lip balm on my lips. But, I still finished it eventually. This is still my favourite lip balm and I will continue to repurchase it!
