EMPTIES
AUGUST 10 - SEPTEMBER 11
- John Frieda Frizz Ease Dream Curls Shampoo 250mL - Still really enjoy this shampoo and will continue to repurchase it. Really like using it in conjunction with my Keune curl cream, and the John Frieda dream curls conditioner.
- E.l.f. Under-eye Setting Powder 'Sheer' 1.2g - I really enjoyed this setting powder but I don't really have anything to compare it to. This specific tub of it I know I paid too much for but I have found it on iHerb for a more appropriate price. I already have a backup that I'll use and think I will repurchase in the future. I removed the stopper on this to make sure I got every last bit (some product may have been wasted but that's just how loose setting powders are).
- Target Sensitive Skin Cleansing Wipes 30 Pack - I absolutely hated these. They were too dry to use on the face, and just pulled and irritated my skin. I used these to remove swatches or clean up my hands after finishing my makeup because they were just too rough to use all over the face. Will not be repurchasing.
- Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick '55 My Nude' - I bought this lipstick in September 2016 to wear for my year ten formal, and it wasn't until near September 2018 that I managed to finish it off... yikes. I did like this lipstick, it was creamy, opaque in one swipe, and a beautiful wearable pinky nude. I felt at times that it could look a little thick on the lips, but that might have just been as it was getting old. I do have one other lipstick from the Rimmel x Kate Moss Anniversary collection that I enjoy, but I don't know that I'd repurchase 'My Nude' again. I do own Colourpop's Lux Lipstick in Appy which I think is a pretty close dupe (and it's cruelty free). My only complaint about this lipstick is that it could look a little thick and textured, but again, it could've just been old, or I may have been too heavy handed in applying it.
- Carmex Classic Moisturising Lip Balm 7.5g - This is my favourite lip balm because the results are long lasting. My lips feel softer when I use this and they don't peel like they did when I was using other balms. The only downside to this is that it's in a jar so it isn't all that sanitary, but I'm the only one using it so it doesn't matter all that much. Have already got some backups to move on to and will continue to repurchase.
- Celavi Eyebrow Razor - This just doesn't work, they're dull and you have to go over a certain area several times to remove any hair. I don't know if it's just this brand that sucks, or if it's this style of razor, but I won't be buying any more in the future.
- Beauty Care Co Makeup Remover Pads 100 Pack - My opinion on these hasn't really changed, they're soft and get the job done. I don't really see the point of spending a lot of money on cotton rounds because they all do roughly the same job, and I like these because they don't flake apart or anything. The pack that I finished was only half of the two pack I bought, so I'm counting half the price ($0.75)
- Biore Cherry Blossom Pore Pack (3 pack) - I like these pore strips, they aren't really any different to the regular Biore ones but they have a cute pattern and smell like cherry blossoms so that's fun. These were a gift and aren't available in Australia so I can't repurchase, but I will probably continue to buy Biore pore strips because they're very effective. My only complaint is the shape of the strip, I have really sensitive skin around my eyes and on my upper-cheeks which this tears at because the strip is so thick.
- Beauty Care Co. 2 x 300 Pack Cotton Tips - These are alright, I use them mostly to remove nail polish and they get the job done. They aren't especially soft but I'm not using them on my face or anything so it doesn't really matter. Might repurchase in the future, but I really don't have any strong feelings about these.
- Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Chamomile, and Lavender 118mL - This scent wasn't my favourite, and I don't think this spray was as hydrating as the others in the range. I don't see this as being something I need to have in my collection anymore and don't think I'll be repurchasing. If I did, it would be the rose scent, and probably only in summer to use as a refreshing spray because it's affordable. I don't see any real skincare benefits from these sprays.
Little bit disappointed I didn't use all that much up in terms of the value of the items I used, but it's still ten less items in my collection! Two makeup items is a big accomplishment for me so I'm very happy with that, and hopefully next month will include some more.
