THOUGHTS
Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick 'Daddy'
Wore April 6th over a lip liner for a dinner party

This colour is not as dark as I remember it being? I never reach for this lipstick because I always think it's darker than this but clearly it's not too dark. I really loved this colour with the eye look, I just thought it was really grungey and cool. This felt a little dry but I think that's just because my lips were dry, and I didn't really notice it throughout the night, it was just when I first applied it. This didn't transfer onto my chin or cups/cutlery and I was eating oily food so that's great. It did wear off the inner rim of my lips but it didn't look bad because this is more of a nude-y tone and I had the lip liner that stained my lips a little.
Colourpop Lux Lipstick 'Scorpio Moon'
Wore April 16th

I really like this colour, it was completely opaque in one swipe, and the lipstick is really comfortable! Feels very hydrating, smooth, and thin. I had bubble tea while wearing this and it lasted perfectly, barely any transfer onto the straw, but when it came to eating (sushi) it wore off terribly. Got on my chin, completely disappeared from the inner parts of my lips just leaving a purple lip line and stained bright pink lips. It wasn't a good look. I also feel like this faded pretty quickly and after about three hours it just wasn't looking as good as when I first applied it. After I reapplied my lips felt quite dry, but not as bad as a liquid lipstick. It did emphasise my dryness a bit but only after I reapplied. I think this is a decent lipstick, but it's not my favourite. I'm mainly keeping it for the colour.
Jeffree Star Cosmetics Lip Ammunition 'Ex-Supermodel'
Wore April 3rd

I really don't think this colour looks good on me. Cool toned pinks just don't suit me. I was hoping this would be more mauve or dusty pink based on looking at the colour of the bullet, but it's not. It was really opaque, but it has that same dry dry feeling of the other Lip Ammunitions. It emphasised the dryness of my lips and it just sucked all the moisture out of them. It was super budge proof though so I guess that's a plus. This did stain my lips bright pink which I don't love. I think this is a colour I could mix with other lipsticks to alter the colour, but I don't think I would wear this alone again.
Colourpop Matte X Lippie Stix 'Cami'
Wore April 23rd

I just don't like this colour, it looks alright on me but it's not something I go for a whole lot. I don't have a whole lot to say about this lipstick, it's good but I just don't like it. I don't like wearing bullet lipsticks in dark colours because of how easily they transfer and how patchy they can look once they start to wear off. (Please excuse this terrible application too)
Colourpop Matte X Lippie Stix 'Candy Paint'
Wore April 22nd

I don't like this colour. It has a pink undertone and I've discovered lately that if I'm going to go for a brown lipstick I prefer a neutral brown. I just never know what to pair with this colour. I know that I like the lippie stix formula, but I also know how badly it can wear and how it transfers, so a dark colour is just asking for disaster. It's just not worth keeping this one because it doesn't make me happy and it doesn't inspire me at all. I never think "Oh I want to wear Candy Paint today!" Never. Because it's too difficult to pair with eye looks and I'm terrified of it getting everywhere.
Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick 'I'm Royalty'
Wore April 4th as a liner on the waterline and lower lash mascara

I originally did this look with yellow in the waterline and just black lashes but then I wondered if I could use liquid lipstick as a coloured mascara. I'd never really thought of doing this before but I love how it turned out and think I would definitely use this again for this purpose because I'm Royalty is an exact colour match for Popsicle from the Suva Beauty Block Party Palette that is on my lid. I applied this to my waterline and lashes just using a small flat shader brush, pressing onto my waterline but sort of swiping onto my lashes, like you'd apply mascara. I'm really excited to see that these work as a mascara because now I feel like I've got so many new options! I put it over my Too Faced Better Than Sex so I still had the length and volume I wanted and was just able to tint the colour. I just think the look turned out really cool with the coloured lashes.
Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick 'Blue Velvet'
Wore April 19th as an eyeshadow base/graphic liner

I used Blue Velvet as a base here, and I'm happy with how it performed. It helped darken and add depth to the shadow I put on top, was easy to apply, and didn't crease or crack at all. It sheered out a bit when I applied it with a flat brush all over the lid, but I didn't need it to be super opaque because I was just using it as a base. It did stain my eyes and my eyes did feel a little irritated after removing my makeup, but I do have sensitive skin. I haven't had an allergic reaction yet, but will update if I do. (I did not, and the staining faded really quickly!)
Colourpop Matte X Lippie Stix 'Can't Wait'
Wore April 17th

I'm not sure how I feel about this lipstick. I like the colour and think it looks good on me, but I don't know how often I'll reach for something this dark in a bullet form. I just worry about smudging and imperfect application with colours like these, and transfer while I'm eating, which I know the Colourpop lipsticks will. I think what I'll do is keep this one for a while and if I don't end up reaching for it before my next declutter, it can go. It was pretty comfortable, a little drying but my lip care has been lacking lately. I did notice a little bit of bleeding so next time I'll definitely wear a lip liner underneath. I was pretty happy with my application but it wasn't perfect either - I just need to keep practising with dark colours. It wore like all the Colourpop lippie stix do, it wore off pretty noticeably while eating and did transfer a bit which is super frustrating. But at least I know that that's how it wears and can decide whether or not to wear it based on if I'll be eating or not.
Colourpop Matte X Lippie Stix 'Ziggie'
Wore April 11th

I don't like this!!!!! It's way too dark and red toned and it just doesn't look good on me. I wore a lip liner under this because I knew I needed to be careful with my application because this is so dark and it still wasn't a perfect application. This felt pretty drying on my lips but again, we are going into winter and my lips aren't in the best condition currently. It's long lasting but while eating it wears off terribly and just looks awful because of how much darker it is than my natural lip colour. This also stained my lips which can be a good thing at times but I don't appreciate a red stain. This is really disappointing because on the Colourpop website it's described as a burnt orange and it's not orange at all. It's a brick red! Colourpop's marketing images are just really deceiving so I'm definitely going to be more careful in the future.
Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick 'Pumpkin Pie'
Wore April 12th as a liner

I absolutely love Pumpkin Pie and as much as I wanted to wear it on my lips I thought it would look really good on the eyes with my Juvia's Place Tribe Palette, and it did, I'm just not super happy with the look. I tried to use Pumpkin Pie as a lower lash mascara like I did with I'm Royalty but it really didn't work, it got all over my skin and the colour didn't show up on my lashes at all. I think because this is older and a bit more liquidy is why it didn't really adhere to the lashes, whereas I'm Royalty is a bit thicker. This is also a lighter colour so I understand why the colour didn't show on the lashes, it's just disappointing. As a liner though, beautiful! It didn't irritate my eyes at all and was really easy to remove. Pumpkin Pie was my first Jeffree Star lipstick so she holds a pretty special place in my heart. It's the perfect burnt orange and I've been trying to find something to dupe it but I just can't. This is also the lipstick that got me obsessed with orange and I just love it. I owe a lot to Pumpkin Pie :-)

The bonus products for this round:

I know I usually list the bonus products in the order I used them, but because these are the last eight in my collection, I couldn't be bothered and decided to just make it like how I do the lipsticks I pick for the month. (Side note, how good does this colour scheme look!)

THOUGHTS
Colourpop So Juicy Plumping Gloss 'Va Va Voom'
Wore May 10th over a lip liner

This smells delicious, it's like a mint slice biscuit and I love it. This is a thick gloss, but it doesn't get stringy on the lips which is great. It is sticky though. I wouldn't say it's super plumping but it does tingle very mildly. I don't like the applicator, but I think it's probably the best suited for this kind of gloss because it's too thick for a doe foot or one of those little brushes. This wears a lot longer than my other glosses because it is so thick, but it did completely wear off while eating. I like this colour, but I think I prefer it without a lip liner because it sort of broke the liner down and made it look a bit patchy.
Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick 'Posh Spice'
Wore May 3rd

This is just a little too grey and can make me look a bit dead if I'm not careful. It's a really weird colour. I found it to be a bit patchy, and it didn't wear well through oily food. The second layer I applied as a touch up looked fine but it felt a bit dry. The second layer was really the third, because it was patchy and I had to build up the colour initially. I don't know I just don't love this one, but I do think it's interesting. (I apologise for this terrible photo) I want to keep this one because it's the closest thing I have to a true cement grey, and I've been looking for something like that for ages.
Colourpop Ultra Glossy Lip 'Paper Moon'
Wore May 12th over a lip liner

This was the most pigmented of the glosses I wore in this round, the colour was really apparent and I thought it was stunning. It's a peachy coral that is just so pretty! This was super comfortable, I even forgot I was wearing it, it didn't get stringy and didn't feel thick. This completely wore off while eating but it wore off really cleanly and was super easy to reapply. I love this!!!!
Colourpop Lux Lipstick '7 Springs'
Wore May 29th

I hate that this is named after an Ariana Grande song but I didn't realise until after I bought it and now we're stuck with it. However, this colour is stunning. It's more orange in person and it's just super super pretty. The finish looks pretty glossy/creamy here but I was wearing a thick layer of lip balm underneath which I think altered it. This was super comfortable, but I did feel the need to blot/remove this before eating because this would absolutely transfer and I didn't want to risk it. I was happy with how this wore though and can't wait to wear this again!
Colourpop Ultra Glossy Lip 'Steelo'
Wore April 25th over a lip liner

I wore this for a night out because I didn't want to wear anything that I had to worry about how it was looking. I knew this would wear off pretty quickly and that if I really wanted to I could easily touch up. I thought this colour was pretty but this doesn't have the same vanilla scent Colourpop glosses normally do. Maybe this one is a bit old? It smells weird and has this plasticy taste that was off putting, but that didn't last long. This did wear off really quickly and I didn't bother to touch up because my lips looked fine. I just didn't want to wear something like a lipstick that would wear off patchy and need to be touched up. (Sorry about the terrible photo!!)
Colourpop Lux Lipstick 'Creme Fresh'
Wore May 15th

I mainly bought this to compare with my MAC Powder Kiss lipstick in My Tweedy because this is one of the Velvet Blur lipsticks from Colourpop that is meant to be a dupe for the MAC line. This wasn't an exact dupe for Tweedy, this colour was darker and Tweedy is more orange than this. This also had a slightly less matte finish. Wearing this, it felt pretty dry and it settled into my lines a bit so it looked dry as well. It wore off pretty terribly while eating and left that ring of colour around my lips like I'd only lined my lips, and colour stuck to dry patches as well. This didn't transfer on my chin at all though so that was pretty exciting. Had I not eaten I think this would have lasted really well because it barely seemed to transfer onto anything.
Colourpop Lux Lipstick 'Hades'
Wore May 22nd

This colour was a bit darker than I expected, but it was still really pretty and I loved the finish. I blotted this down and after I did it felt a bit dry and uncomfortable, but it's Winter and my lips aren't in the best shape anyway. It did smudge a little while I was eating but didn't transfer ridiculously and it lasted pretty well.
Colourpop Ultra Glossy Lip 'Glass Lip'
Wore April 24th over a lip liner

I really like this! It's a beautiful tone and having it over the lip liner just accentuated the colour. It was really comfortable and thin on the lips, and it didn't get stringy. This smells like vanilla or cake which is nice, and the scent doesn't linger too long which I prefer. This doesn't wear for a long time, but who expects long wear from a gloss? Completely wears off while you're eating but the sparkle in the gloss stays behind. I just think the Colourpop glosses are great.

Just a few more bonus products that were bought within the month:

THOUGHTS
MAC Matte Lipstick 'Love U Back'

Wore May 24th

This might be my perfect nude, I think this colour is just stunning and it looks really natural on me! This was also super comfortable which I love in a matte lipstick. My lips didn't feel dry at all throughout the day. This didn't transfer or smudge while I ate, but it did wear off pretty significantly. My only complaint is that this had sort of a weird scent/taste that was like crayony/waxy vanilla, but it didn't linger, and I have noticed that with my other MAC lipstick too so I guess it's normal. I'm super happy with this one and can see this becoming my everyday shade from now on. I'm really glad this is the lipstick I chose from the Strip Down collection because if we're being real, I wanted them all.
Urban Decay Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lip Gloss 'Naked'

Wore May 30th

This was a little sample I picked up at Meccaland, I hadn't been super interested in the Urban Decay glosses when they launched, but now I'm more into gloss so I was curious about these. This gloss is everything I love in a gloss, it's sheer, thick, glittery, and it smells like mint. I'm very impressed. I really wasn't expecting much, but I thought that it was going to be pigmented and I just can't stand pigmented glosses. I don't like that the doefoot picks up the tiniest  amount of product so you have to keep dipping, but it is just a sample size. I wore this after my YSL lipstick wore off just on top of the stain that it had left, no liner. Because I didn't wear a lip liner this did wear off pretty quickly but I did eat too. It was really comfortable and I couldn't feel it on my lips at all, but it also wasn't super glossy, but it was pretty. I can see myself using up this sample, but I don't think this is a gloss I would buy.
Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Shine 'No. 12 Corail Incandescent'

Wore May 30th

This one was a sample in my Beauty Loop Box from Meccaland, and I was really disappointed when I saw it was a red, but when I swatched it on my hand I realised it was more of a watermelon-y colour and that it was a sheer balm type product, not an opaque lipstick - I'm not gonna say that I was more excited after I discovered this, because I wasn't, but at least it wasn't a standard red lipstick. This smells like watermelon which is fun, and I think the packaging is super cute, and I was really excited to open my box and see a YSL lipstick. I think the colour is fun, it's just not one I would have picked myself. This applies like a glossy balm and does stain the lips, and I like the effect/finish of the product. It's really comfortable to wear, and I do think the colour suits me actually, very reminiscent of Jeffree Star's Watermelon Soda which is one of my favourites!

Sorry this is such a long post! New products kept coming into my collection and I didn't want to do another post so I just decided to put them all in this one. I've still got some new lipsticks/glosses coming in the mail but I'm going to wait a bit and then I'll do another post when I've got around ten new things, or maybe less.

Items I'm decluttering:
  • Colourpop Matte X Lippie Stix in Ziggie because it's red toned and way too dark for me.
  • Colourpop Matte X Lippie Stix in Candy Paint because I don't like the colour/tone and don't know how to wear it or what to wear it with. It just doesn't suit my style.
  • Colourpop Matte X Lippie Stix in Cami because it's not a colour I gravitate towards.
  • Colourpop Ultra Glossy Lip in Steelo because it smells like it's expired and is a bit separated, really bummed about this because the colour is pretty and this one is brand new.
