Empties #5

EMPTIES

 MAY 30 - JUNE 16
(Project pan spoilers!!)
  • E.l.f. 3 in 1 Mascara - This mascara really did nothing for me, it barely lengthened and gave no volume, dried up really badly very quickly. I hated the shape of the wand (had one of those spikey balls on the end that just gets in the way) and just found this very difficult to work with. Not worth what I paid for it and would not buy it in the future.
  • Rimmel 60 Seconds Nail Polish '500 Caramel Cupcake' - Got to a point with this where it was getting too hard to paint my nails (having to dip back into the bottle at least four times per nail), it got really kinda thick and gluggy too towards the end. I really enjoyed it while it was good and have other colours from the range, if I'm in the market for a neutral polish I think I'd buy this again because I did love the colour. Unfortunately, not all of what was in the bottle was usable but these are so cheap I'm not that bothered by it (and I had this one for a long time).
  • Mitchum 48HR Protection Powder Fresh 50mL Deodorant - Will continue repurchasing this until it stops working for me, have already got backups in my collection that I've moved onto.
  • Manicare Precision Blending Sponge - This sponge wasn't very good, it didn't expand much and it soaked up a lot (was way too porous). It was okay for a while, but it broke down very quickly and I much prefer the Real Techniques sponges or the Beauty Blender. Won't be repurchasing this one.
  • John Frieda Frizz Ease Dream Curls Conditioner 250mL - I really like this conditioner, it defines my curls and makes my hair less frizzy for sure, it's quite thick but it doesn't bother me. Have got backups of this and I'm sure I'll probably repurchase in the future because I've never tried another conditioner that works this well for my hair.
  • Colourpop Lippie Stix 'Drop Top' - This one was a creme finish and I found it really comfortable but it did get kind of messy (especially when eating), I loved the colour, it was a peachy nude (which I have multiple of in my collection). I liked this lipstick, but I wasn't always sure about how the colour looked on me and I have other peaches I can wear so I won't be repurchasing anytime soon, but maybe in the future. Very excited that I finished it - this is the first time I've gotten through a whole lipstick!
  • 16 Brand Peach Soda Cleansing Balm 110g - I liked this balm, it melted all my makeup off but did leave some residue (I always use a second cleanser anyway) and stung my eyes a bit if it got in my eyes (and would make my vision blurry). Overall, I enjoyed this for removing my face/lips makeup and it lasted me well. Glad I managed to finish it up before it expired, would consider repurchasing but I'm going to try a few other cleansers first.
  • Carmex x Skinny Dip Sugar Plum Moisturising Lip Balm SPF 15 7.5g - This was probably the best lip balm I've ever tried, but it didn't last any longer than others I've tried and I didn't like the fact that it was in a pot, it just felt gross and unhygienic. If they made this (or even regular carmex) in a stick form that would be perfect but that's not the case. I would consider repurchasing potted carmex in the future because I enjoyed it, but I'm more inclined to use stick balms instead.
  • NYX Dewy Finish Setting Spray 60mL - I really liked this setting spray, I think it helped the longevity of my makeup but I didn't necessarily see any extra dewiness. I think setting sprays are mostly about the experience of using them anyway, but since I did enjoy this I will repurchase it after I work through some others in my collection.
  • The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil 10mL - I think I liked this? I didn't really use it consistently enough to see a difference in my skin, and I did use this in combination with the tea tree foaming cleanser so it's hard to say what  caused any change but I do think this dried my skin out a bit which I'm not a fan of since I already struggle with dry patches. Might repurchase in the future for spot treating acne, but not much else.
